Jane Fonda (born December 21, 1937) is an American actress, writer, political activist, former fashion model and fitness guru. She rose to fame in the 1960s with films such as Barbarella and Cat Ballou and, with interruptions, has appeared in films ever since. She has won two Academy Awards and received several other awards and nominations. She initially announced her retirement from acting in 1991, and said for many years that she would never act again, but she returned to film in 2005 with Monster in Law, and later Georgia Rule, released in 2007. She also produced and starred in several exercise videos released between 1982 and 1995. Fonda has served as an activist for many political causes, one of the most notable and controversial of which was her opposition to the Vietnam War. She has also protested the Iraq War and violence against women. She describes herself as a liberal and a feminist. Since 2001, Fonda has been a Christian. She published an autobiography in 2005 and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

She even defended the Khmer Rouge, and once gave Joan Baez a hard time because Joan didn't. I plan to be standing in that long line of full-bladdered Nam vets at her grave, provided I live that long. (Hopefully she won't be buried in a waterproof coffin.) -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on April 7, 2011, 2:36 am - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
One person who I don't mention around my dad (he did 5 tours in 'Nam) would be Jane Fonda. It's because of her actions that there are more names on the Vietnam Memorial Wall, and I don't buy her claim she embraced Christianity. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on March 27, 2010, 12:12 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Not these days Robert, not with the America hating libbies in charge! Oh, to have lived to see the day!!! -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on August 2, 2009, 5:03 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I'm guessing treason's no longer a crime in America these days... -- Submitted By: (Robert) on August 1, 2009, 11:36 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The entry on this page says Hanoi Jane's been a Christian since 2001, but I don't believe it. It can't possibly be true. There's no way her far left friends would ever tolerate her joining "the enemy". -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 10, 2009, 2:08 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
I've never quite understood how she wasn't brought up for Treason for helping to "aid and comfort" the North Vietnamese. Puts the Dixie Chicks in perspective. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on May 2, 2009, 7:05 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
