Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

Doug - TV Shows
When Doug became "Brand Spanking New Doug", it was a Bone-a-fide Bone the Fish moment. Everything changed for the worst, and one prime example was Doug getting a new baby sister. As you know, the addition of a baby to a TV show is a bad idea. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on May 11, 2009, 1:40 pm

Shield, The - TV Shows
I was screaming at the screen for half the episode. Ronnie's fate pissed me off the most. Shane's made me half sick to my stomach. Vic's tears at the end though, I had to laugh. Evil bastard finally got what was coming to him. Olivia totally hosed him. BTW... did he get that report done that she wanted, or are we to assume he was going the way of Gardocky the very next day? It's hard to write comments that don't spell out what happened by the way. I don't want to potentially spoil people who may watch this amazing show. -- Submitted By: (Koskov) on May 11, 2009, 10:26 am

I was upset for about 2 weeks after seeing this finale, not that it was a bad finale, but that it was so rough to see where our characters ended up, Ronnie's final fate probably tore at me the most! I wonder if Shawn Ryan is ever going to do some kind of "5 years later" movie or continuation, I'd love to see it. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on May 11, 2009, 9:07 am

Shield, The - TV Shows
I can't believe that I just finished an entire television show that couldn't have ended more appropriately (albeit... uncomfortably). The finale was hard to watch. Let me explain, it wasn't that the finale was bad (by no means could I call the finale bad), but it just made me cringe on more than one occasion. After 7 seemingly short seasons, you become invested in your favorite characters, as well as the ones you love to hate, and to see how some of their character arcs end is nothing short of amazing. I feel that this show has one of the very few PERFECT series finales that I have ever been witness to. Michael Chiklis' final scene in the series, though completely without words, carried so much gravity that it was nothing short of amazing to me. I wanna thank Chubby Rain for turning me onto this show. You were right man. A++++ -- Submitted By: (Koskov) on May 11, 2009, 7:18 am

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - TV Shows
I believe that this is currently the funniest show on television. Every single main character, and there's five of them, is absolutely hilarious. The situations they get into are so off-the-wall that it borders on comedic genius. If you've never watched this show (and there's many of you), do yourself a favor and give it a try. -- Submitted By: (Tryclyde) on May 11, 2009, 6:02 am

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers - TV Shows
This show boned the fish when they introduced a villain that was some French relative of Fat Cat's, basically the same character with an accent. It's stupid enough when this type of thing happens in live action, but in animation, it's completely unneccessary. -- Submitted By: (LoyalPigeon) on May 10, 2009, 11:24 pm

Ghostbusters (Filmation) - TV Shows
The name and concept that inspired this show may have pre-dated the Columbia film by a number of years, but this show was always the weak sister to the much cooler "Real" Ghostbusters series. A couple of idiots and an ape running around haunted houses in some cheap Scooby-Doo wannabe just doesn't stack up to the "other" GB's, which was at least initially much darker and adventurous. -- Submitted By: (LoyalPigeon) on May 10, 2009, 11:10 pm

Star Trek - Movie Series
Just saw the JJ Abrams film this evening- it officially unboned the mess that Insurrection and Nemesis threw it into, "Star Trek" by JJ Abrams was fun, exciting and vibrant, I was shocked with how good it was, and how I amactually excited for them to make sequels to this franchise again. Go see the new Film, it IS worth your time. And grab some Long John Silver's before you go, just to have the taste of fish, LEAVE your mouth at the theatre as you eat popcorn!! Thank you JJ Abrams for bringing this mess back to respectability! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on May 10, 2009, 9:12 pm

Star Trek: Voyager - TV Shows
The show was written as a stupid license to throw canon out the window and serve as a "short story" series, as a Federation ship made First Contact with a different sci-fi writer's crazy brainstorm every episode, which was never to be seen again-- likewise somehow never learning a single thing from ANY of the diverse technology or cultures etc. that they encountered-- yep, to maintain the status quo, every episode ended with the good ol' Gilligan's Island "reset button--" which not only fixed the ship good as new, but also made their findings useless. And when this got boring, producer Brannon Braga went whoring-- turning the entire series into a casting-couch go get his trophy-bimbo Jery Ryan to put out, by making her the "Mary Sue" of the series-- which likewise served to do nothing but showcase her monster-butt and be the center of attention, but somehow never have sex with anyone because she's too good for it. This ruined it for any remaining Star Trek fans in the audience-- both of them! -- Submitted By: (SarahGoodwich) on May 10, 2009, 9:05 pm

Star Trek: Voyager - TV Shows
Jumped on Day 1-- the ship gets kidnapped by an alien who looks like the banjo-playing kid from "Deliverance?" And right next to Deep Space Nine-- what is it about that area of the galaxy, that makes it so attractive to wormhole-making aliens on the other side of the galaxy? And even if you want to violate the Prime Directive and intervene in affairs of other worlds: instead of DESTROYING the wormhole-gizmo, why not just disable the Kazon ships, and then take the gizmo for yourself? And what's with the Kazon ships having a CHANCE against Voyager, when they don't even have warp-drive, transporters, replicators etc? HELLO? Obviously, this series was simply intended as a paradise for off-canon writing, i.e. for the writers to go stark raving mad, throwing out all the rules and canon of Star Trek, in order to indulge every crackpot short-story that the idiots think is "cool" and suddenly make it official Star Trek canon, no matter how ridiculous it was. This got old REALLY fast, and so before long the entire series became simply a casting-couch for Rick Berman to showcase his favorite bimbo, Jeri Ryan, to put out for him-- after she got tired of being a trophy-wife for her congressman-husband who proved to be a perv, and so she decided that she "deserved" a starring role as a "Mary Sue" character on a world-famous franchise-show, upstaging the entire rest of the cast by taking over center-stage; since after all, she thought she was a scientific genius as well as a legendary actress (despite having zero evidence to suggest either one). The move proved a fantastic success-- for her and Rick Berman anyway, at only the expense of just the series, and any remaining actual "Star Trek" fans in the audience. But the ratings went up-- which is like Gary Coleman growing an inch taller: and with the type of viewer who tuned in to watch the name changed from "Voyager" to "Voyeur," since every shot was entirely dedicated to showcasing Jeri Ryan and her monster butt. Guess the Borg won. -- Submitted By: (SarahGoodwich) on May 10, 2009, 8:41 pm

Pee-Wee's Playhouse - TV Shows
This show is highly overrated. It seems to bring out a lot of nostalgic memories, but I don't know why. Seeing reruns as an adult, first on Fox Family, and later on Cartoon Network, I found this show rather boring. Really, it was pretty uneventful in spite of all the wild characters included. Only the opening and closing credits were actually interesting. It's a shame people can't seem to look past the premise about a family of "hillbillies". KotH was not always bad, but times changed for the worse. It needs to cancel for its own good, but apparently, it was done to make room for a Family Guy spinoff. If you think this show shouldn't cancel, look at the Simpsons now. See what happened to them? The Last Season! No Goldie, no Arte, no Judy, no JoAnne equalled no fun! And Ruth Buzzi was funny and tried so hard but she just couldn't carry the whole show by herself! If it's cleverly done (see "Green Acres" , "Rocky and Bullwinkle",etc. ), I like it when characters break the fourth wall on occasion to include us viewers! Rush Limbaugh - Celebrities
Limbaugh is a real-life Eric Cartman: i.e. a fat, ugly, self-hating bigot and hate-monger of Germanic descent, who believes that he's somehow smarter and superior to everyone else without doing any real work to earn it. He BTF when he was a discovered drug-addict, and he proved himself a hate-monger when he said that "discovery of a gay gene would lead to abortions of any fetus discovered with it, just like if it was going to be an ethnic minority." Then he proceeded to list details, saying "if you knew it was going to be an ugly freckled redhead" etc. That's EXACTLY what Cartman said in the South Park episode "Ginger Kids!" This is no different from saying "ugly black African," or "ugly big-nosed Jew," or "ugly slant-eyed Asian" or similar ethnic description; it's just that Limbaugh is also a COWARD who gets rich by casting popular slurs at people whom he thinks can't hurt him. Basically he's comparing homosexuality to ethnicity-- and saying that they're BOTH A DEFECT! Limbaugh is an obvious hate-monger who simply HIDES his hate, so that his fans can DENY it-- but there's no way he can be on the radio for 20+ years and still hide his hate- any more than he can hide his drug-addiction. He simply VALIDATES popular right-wing hate of the GOP, making them feel superior at other people's expense-- and he denies it, by simply calling himself "politically incorrect." Like all successful haters, he starts out by making some sense, then gradually catering to popular hate of one group: and to deny this, is also to deny that he's a drug addict. -- Submitted By: (SarahGoodwich) on May 10, 2009, 1:37 pm

Began Boning around 2001-ish and is slowly getting worse. They play the same shows way too much (the schedule is basically 15 hours of SpongeBob, iCarly and Fairly Oddparents... And whatever random newer show they cancel after a season and a half for no good reason). They had some good shows back in the day, Doug, Pete and Pete, Wild and Crazy Kids, Pre Games Ren and Stimpy, Rocko, Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold, etc. Even a few newer ones, Invader Zim, Pre Movie Spongebob and Pre movie FOP were good. I agree, it was after the movie. The show started off good, and fresh, I heard somewhere they planned to end the show with the movie (to go out with a bang), But the Execs at Nick milked the cash cow dry, and continued. Cartoon Network - Random Topics
Boned when the started airing live action. Lord knows who's idea this was, but it pretty much defeated the whole purpose of the channel. It began going downhill around 2004-ish when they killed off The Powerhouse Bumpers(Didn't really care though, I hated the new logo though) They canceled Jhonny bravo, Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, Sheep in the Big City and all the others. Nothing could beat the classics, but they did have some good newer shows. Foster's Home and Billy and Mandy were good ones for example, (But of course they canned them) but they got WAY too much crap though, Class of 3000, Jennifer Lee (or whatever), My Gym Partners a Monkey, (UGH) and Out of Jimmy's @$$... (DEAR GAWD). Again, what's this LIVE ACTION crap doing on CARTOON Network? Chowder was a step in the right direction though. I had a USPS tracking number that showed the package had been delivered to the listed address. Boiled down to essentials, I think he got boned when I heard him say on the radio (and I quote) "There's no evidence smoking is HARMFUL!" No evidence?! If he'd had had said " I've heard all the evidence of how smoking's harmful but I don't CARE what it's supposed to do to me or those who want to hang out with me because I like smoking and will do it as long as I can!" , I could have had some respect for his POV even though I disagree with his smoking stance. However; to say that there's "no evidence" of it being harmful blatantly ignores data that's been public record the last 40 odd years (to say nothing of the tobacco companies' own internal records going back decades further)! And he claims to be broadcating the whole truth and nothing but. The above quote seems to show the validity of that assertation. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on May 9, 2009, 1:48 pm

I wish people could appreciate the subtlety of the humor of KOTH instead of gags that are obviously humorous , that is what makes an animated show gold, like the early days of the Simpsons for example. I will really hate to see this one go. You should see what it is being replaced with, yet another Seth Macfarline abomination.King of the hill got better as the seasons progressed though I was never a fan of the Bobby centered episodes. I don't think it jumped completely, but adding a character and killing one is a tell tale sign of an uhh boned fish (??)At any rate I love this show and pretty much anything Mike Judge puts his name on. -- Submitted By: (joeyschmoey) on May 9, 2009, 1:46 pm

Katie Holmes answers a question that I have wondered about for a long time- would you sell your soul to the devil for fame and fortune- and Katie has shown us what that means in 2009. A mid level actress wants to be "A" list, so she gets her wish, by joining the evil cult of $cientology!! Look at those lifeless eyes and the multiple handlers watching over her every move. Good bye old friends and old life, hello daily cult brainwashing in your arranged fake marriage. It's really sad to see a once vibrant person sell out to such an insidious organization to be on the front page of the tabloids as Tom Cruise's "fake" wife. I'll take my random regular life over that any day- katie, you joined $cientology, and "Boned the Xenu Fish" at the same time!!! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on May 9, 2009, 1:38 pm

Ren and Stimpy - TV Shows
Though gross, it was fun to watch. Then it was cancelled. Then it was brought back for an adult audience. And it was not the Ren and Stimpy I remembered it to be. It sucked. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on May 9, 2009, 12:53 pm

McDonalds - Random Topics
I agree with everything said below me. The commercials are pandering, and just stupid. The slogans don't even make sense anymore: "It's who I am and what I do?" What the hell does that have to do with fast food. My least favorite one is the one where the stupid looking black girl does karate during the commercial, as though McDonalds helps her get through karate practice. Anyone who actually does anything requiring physical fitness knows that that is a lie, eat anything from McDonalds, and you'll be too busy taking a dump to do any strenuous physical activity. Boned the fish...then put it on the menu. -- Submitted By: (castaghast) on May 9, 2009, 12:07 pm

Simpsons, The - TV Shows
Never boned? NEVER BONED? You gotta be kidding me! It boned beyond all reason! There are more bad episodes than good ones because it didn't cancel for over 10 years! Stop watching the new episodes. Buy yourself the DVD sets. You'll notice there's a huge difference...the episodes from the past are actually much, much better than they are now! -- Submitted By: (Robert) on May 9, 2009, 11:52 am

King of the Hill - TV Shows
When Lucky became a regular, it had a chance to bone back by losing him. But when Luanne got pregnant out of wedlock and Lucky was forced to marry her, it clinched his place as a permanent member. Then they kill off Cotton in the most idiotic way possible, and we finally meet Luanne's dad...who goes from the victim of domestic abuse to a criminal who winds up getting locked up for life under the three strikes law. Many shows prove that you can still bone the fish after it's been boned already. Unfortunatly, KotH jumped on that bandwagon. What a shame. I'm glad to hear it's going to cancel, since it needs to be put out of its misery (like the Simpsons. Look what happened because they insisted on continuing!). If they didn't cancel, they would make more bad episodes: maybe killing off Dale or Bill or Boomhauer, or Bobby getting Connie pregnant. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on May 9, 2009, 11:39 am

Avatar: The Last Airbender - TV Shows
I thought Avatar was awesome. There were some episodes on there that weren't really needed though. Especially Season 3, which had a lot of filler episodes that wouldn't have done anything to mess up the main story line had they been taken out. -- Submitted By: (McT) on May 9, 2009, 7:54 am

Shaquille O'Neal - Celebrities
Marcus, how is Kazaam a rip off of Space Jam? The only way they're similar is that they feature a popular and successful NBA player (In Space Jam's case several of them). And Kazaam came out around 4 months before Space Jam. But that Kazaam movie cememted the fact that he Boned The Fish though. -- Submitted By: (McT) on May 9, 2009, 7:45 am

Nintendo Wii - Random Topics
What does the world being full of stupid ignorant people that are out of shape have to do with anything about gaming? There were still a lot of people in the world that were ignorant and out of shape back when the NES and SNES were out. And what I said about new generations of gaming wasn't an opinion. It was fact. If technology didn't advance, then there wouldn't be any 8-bit or 16-bit video games. Hell, there wouldn't be any video games in particular. Technology has to advance whether you think it should or not. I agree somewhat on what you said, because it's messed up how quickly it does advances though. You could have you hands on something that's considered the best thing, and then as little as 2 years later something else pops up and makes the thing you first bought obsolete. Personally, I like how video games have advanced from being simplistic looking with limited functions in gameplay like Pong, to being absolutely gorgeous and realistic looking with pretty much absolute freedom like Grand Theft Auto IV or Mass Effect. If I were you two, I'd go on eBay and try to buy the old consoles and games again, or use emulators and roms and play all of the classics right on the computer. -- Submitted By: (McT) on May 9, 2009, 7:32 am

Boned when all they could talk about was the South. There can be tornadoes in downtown Los Angeles and they will dwell on a typical spring rain storm in Atlanta or Nashville. The addition of a 4th judge was a mistake. The addition of Kara was a disaster. She behaves like a 12 year old, screaming and shrieking over Adam. There's nothing more unbecoming than a middle aged woman acting like a fan-girl. This week she went beyond the pale gushing over Adam Lambert, calling him a rock god. Regular radio is un-listenable after you have had Sirius/XM satellite. It jumps the fish for each person after they get a taste of the good service and little to no commercials and real variety of ALL kinds of music on Satellite radio. Albertsons - Random Topics
Never boned/entered. Albertsons is one of the best supermarkets I have ever been to in my life. I especially thought their bakery was excellent; I love their cakes! If I recall correctly, didn't they used to be THE national chain before we had Wal-Mart Supercenters and such? And I do feel kind of bummed that some locations are going away (I'm in Texas, BTW), but whatever remains is where I would go. -- Submitted By: (SVN) on May 8, 2009, 2:24 pm

Radio - Random Topics
I'd have to say the radio "boned the fish" just recently. I don't know if this applies where you live, but apparently there are too many commercials, and the stations seem to play just the same 10 songs over and over every day! Gee whiz, I hope Sirius XM or Internet radio prevails! -- Submitted By: (SVN) on May 8, 2009, 2:13 pm

Don Imus - Celebrities
By the way Robert- i do agree with you, the amount of vitriol directed at Imus from the Black community was laughable, since what the hip/hop rap industry makes is about 1000x more offensive and vile, and they are regarded as heros, but Imus is bad because he called some black girls Nappy Headed Ho's? It was just another chance for Al Sharpton and Jess Jackson to grandstand. I liked how the one BB players for Rutgers filed a 100m dollar lawsuit or some such nonsense for being degraded....all this was was hypocrites pretending to be offened for $$$ and attention. All that said, Imus still sucks as a broadcaster- hard. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on May 8, 2009, 1:47 pm

Imus looks and sounds like the Crypt Keeper, he was lucky the nappy headed Ho's thing came out, at least it gave him some attention, since his ratings are worse than the folks he replaced on air after the "incident". I've also wondered how anyone can listen to him, he is almost to the point he sounds like he just rasps and grunts from time to time. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on May 8, 2009, 1:37 pm

Don Imus - Celebrities
How come he's tarred and feathered for calling the women on the basketball team "Nappy headed hos", but all the celebrities - especially womanizers and the misogynous musicians who call women WAY worse things in their songs - are not? It's as fair as executing a man for stealing some eggs while the people who steal sheep and cows are spared. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on May 8, 2009, 1:26 pm

Pac-Man - TV Shows
You can't make a hit cartoon series of something that's supposed to be an arcade game only. However, the guys behind some of the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons and the Super Mario Bros. Super Show did a pretty good job. Nevertheless, Pac-Man is great as an arcade/video game only, 'cause it simply can't work as an animated series. -- Submitted By: (Marcus) on May 8, 2009, 7:49 am
